ViniVault/Starting
Start cataloguing your vinyl this weekend
Begin with an account and one record. You do not need the whole shelf catalogued on the first day.

A small start that still works
Add ten records you know well. Search them, confirm the pressing against the label, and look at the shelf. If that feels like your collection, do the next crate. If a result is the wrong edition, do not save it to get the number up.
Put the icon on the home screen before you tidy the records away, so the catalogue is easy to reopen. On iPhone that is Share, then Add to Home Screen, in Safari, after you have signed in. On Android it is the browser menu.
You do not need the whole room catalogued before the app is useful. Ten accurate records can answer 'do I own this?' for those ten. An empty plan to start on Monday answers nothing.
A weekend shape
Saturday can be the ten records and a look at the sleeves. Sunday can be the notes you skipped: where you bought them, a split seam, the price you paid. Empty fields are allowed on the first pass. A sentence you write while you remember is worth more than a complete-looking blank.
Anything you notice is missing goes on the wishlist. The shelf stays the records you have. That habit, on day one, is what keeps the inventory true later.
How this works in ViniVault
Create an account from this page, add those ten, and sign in next time from the same account. Search, barcode, or a short manual entry all land on the one shelf.
The free shelf holds 100 records. You do not need Pro to start. You need it when the next crate would pass that line.
Questions
- How long does a record take to add?
- A search and a save is a moment, once you have the record in front of you. Typing a rare record by hand takes a little longer, and it is still quicker than looking for it in a box later.
- What if I pick the wrong pressing?
- Edit the record when you notice. A note that says you were unsure is a good start. The label is the correction.
