ViniVault/Guide
How to catalogue your vinyl records
Start with the records you can see. Add one, check the artist and title, then move to the next. A finished shelf is more useful than a perfect first entry.

What to record
For each record, keep the artist, the title, and the pressing if you know it. A sleeve photo makes the shelf readable at a glance. Condition, where you bought it, and what you paid are worth adding when you still remember them.
You do not have to finish every field on day one. Add the record, then come back from the album page and fill in the rest.
Do it in this order
Step 1
Create your vault
Open Create account, choose an email and a password, and sign in. The shelf starts empty and only you can see it.
Step 2
Add the record
Use Add Records to search by artist and album, scan a barcode, or type the details yourself when the search misses.
Step 3
Choose the pressing
When several copies exist, pick the one that matches the record you own. That choice is what the sleeve and the later price guide hang on.
Step 4
Write down what you know
Add condition, a note, and the price you paid. A typed price is the one that counts if you later look at collection value.
Step 5
Put ViniVault on your phone
After you sign in, add the app to your home screen. The same shelf opens at a record fair or in a shop.
Questions
- Do I need to catalogue every record before the shelf is useful?
- No. A shelf of twenty records you can search is already useful. Add the rest when you next play them.
