Terms of use

Last updated 29 September 2026

1. What ViniVault is

ViniVault is a private progressive web app (PWA) for managing a personal vinyl record collection. It lets you browse and search your own shelves, add records (catalogue search, barcode, manual entry, or external collection import), keep a wishlist, note listening history and personal copy details, and use Discover tools such as Do I own it?, record stores and fairs search, stylus hours, care reading, loans, and — when enabled — Vinyl Hunter and Ask My Collection.

You can create your own account, or the owner can invite you. ViniVault is not a public social network. It is not an online shop or marketplace: you do not buy or sell records, care products, or other goods through ViniVault itself. Any purchase you make after following an external listing happens on that third-party site under its own terms.

2. Your account

You must keep your sign-in details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may register yourself, and the vault owner may still invite collectors, disable accounts, reset passwords, or withdraw access at any time for this installation. Self-serve email password reset is not available on this installation; ask the owner (Account → People) if you cannot sign in. Signed-in users can change their own password in Account → Settings.

Each signed-in user has their own vault. Records, wishlist items, and related notes belong to that vault and are not shared automatically with other users on the same installation.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the personal information you enter about your copies (purchase notes, ratings, condition, loans, matrix codes, and similar fields). By using ViniVault you allow this installation to store and display that data so the app can work for you.

Catalogue metadata (artist, title, track lists, artwork links, and similar) may come from third-party sources or a local catalogue on this server. That metadata is provided to help you identify pressings; it is not sold by ViniVault as a product.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Try to access another person’s vault or account without permission
  • Abuse third-party data sources or connected services beyond normal personal use
  • Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing material
  • Interfere with the security or availability of this installation
  • Use Vinyl Hunter or similar tools in a way that harasses sellers or breaks marketplace rules
  • Misuse Report a problem or other contact forms (for example spam or abuse)

5. Availability

ViniVault is provided as a personal tool on a private host. Features may change, pause, or be withdrawn. We aim to keep your collection data safe, but you should export a backup from Account when you want your own copy.

6. Limitation of liability

ViniVault is provided “as is” for personal collecting. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator of this installation is not liable for lost data, incorrect catalogue matches, marketplace listing changes, or decisions you make after using Do I own it?, Vinyl Hunter, Ask My Collection, store or fair search, or other Discover tools.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we revise them.
