Cookie policy

1. How ViniVault uses cookies

ViniVault uses a small number of cookies and similar browser storage so the PWA can sign you in and remember simple preferences. We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

2. Essential cookies

vv_session — an HTTP-only session cookie that keeps you signed in to your vault. It is required for the app to work. If it is missing or invalid, you are returned to the sign-in screen.

This cookie is set when you sign in (and when you choose “Remember me” it lasts longer). Signing out clears it.

3. Preferences on the server and on your device

Many Account settings (for example collection defaults, appearance, Vinyl Hunter email toggles, and home postcode) are stored with your account on this installation so they follow you across devices when you are signed in.

Some short-lived or device-local choices may also use your browser’s local storage or session storage — for example collection list/grid view on this device, sleeve-entry animation state, or acknowledgement of an in-app Vinyl Hunter notice. That data stays on your device (or lasts only for the browser session) and is not used as an advertising identifier. Clearing site data for ViniVault removes local and session storage for this origin.

4. PWA / device storage

If you install ViniVault on your home screen, the browser or OS may cache app shell files so pages load quickly offline or on a slow connection. That cache is for performance, not advertising.

5. Managing cookies

You can delete cookies for this site in your browser settings, or sign out from Account. Blocking the session cookie will prevent sign-in and normal use of the vault.

6. Changes

If we add new essential cookies or change how preferences are stored, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date.
